Remains mostly the same.
September 28, 2007 | 7:33 AM PSTTournament mode returns in Smash Brothers Brawl and the Smash Bros. Dojo may confirm the ability to store your Smash stats in your Wii remote and bring it to a friends.
In Super Smash Brothers: Melee, tournament mode allowed friends to create a tournament of up to 64 players and face off to see who could survive the elimination style matches. This mode returns in Brawl and offers many of the same options.
According to the screens on the Smash Site, players will have access to match types, handicaps, damage ratios, item switch and more. While the screens do not reveal every option, the highest number of players shown is 32 while the previous maximum was 64.
One screen in particular shows a Wii Remote on the Name Entry screen that says "Pull name from controller" and points to the Wii Remotes "+" button. This could possibly allow the player to take their own Smash Brothers data and bring it to a friend's using the Wii remote.
Melee provided a vast library of data from the player's battles but this data could not be moved off of the memory card. If this feature is confirmed then players will be able to keep track of all their matches whether they are playing on their own system or a friend's.
