Rygar Avoids Christmas Shopping; Favors Valentine's Day Instead
December 9, 2008 | 5:19 PM PST
Can't wait to get ahold of Rygar: The Battle of Argus this week? Will you die if you're not able to sling the Diskarmor with all the might your Wii remote can muster? Well, I certainly hope that's not the case, because there is bad news: Rygar isn't coming home for Christmas. Instead, he'd holding out until February.
"But why, Rygar, why?!" you ask. And the answer?
There is no real answer; at least, not yet.
No reason was cited by Tecmo, but it's likely the publisher wanted to avoid the busy holiday season (after all, the game is entirely done and ready to go). Also, no changes are going to be made to the game in the meantime -- it's just being held for an extra two months. This isn't the first time the game was delayed, either; it was originally supposed to ship earlier this fall. Tecmo will likely make an official announcement of the delay tomorrow morning. -- 1up
So, how did they find out if there's no announcement? From what I can tell, they likely asked Sam Kennedy, who brought the news and reviewed the title, to hold on to his review for a bit. On the upside, he seems to have enjoyed the experience quite a bit, describing it as a good God of War/Castlevania-style action/adventure game for the Wii. An odd mix, but there you have it.
At least we have something to look forward to.
