Wii Fit in Japan: 3 Million Strong, and Growing
January 7, 2009 | 12:22 PM PST
Just over a year ago, in December of 2007, Nintendo unleashed the raw fury of Wii Fit upon the unsuspecting masses of Japan.
And apparently, they liked it, as Famitsu reports the workout-in-a-box has moved some 3 million units over the past year; last time numbers were out, they were about 200,000 less.
Kotaku attributes the boost to Christmas sales, but does Japan really get that sort of boost for that holiday? I know they celebrate it there, but not exactly in the way we do.
