Nintendo Customer Service is Like Snickers: It Satisfies
January 30, 2009 | 12:23 PM PST
It's a rare instance when Nintendo fails to satisfy with their customer service. In contrast, since the launch of their Club Nintendo site, many users have had difficulties with logging in, getting surveys to fill out for coins, and other peculiarities.
But as one Kombo reader recently discovered, even the slightly-chaotic Club Nintendo operation isn't too much for Nintendo's customer service representatives to handle.
Jay Leininger writes to tell us that since the promotional website opened, he's had trouble with transferring his My Nintendo information over. He's gone through several e-mails to Nintendo, and even a phone call, and in spite of the "abnormalities" being faced in his account, things were resolved fairly quickly.
That is, except for one game. When he followed up with Nintendo regarding the issue, he received the following response:
Hello,
I'm not sure why the surveys associated with your game is not appearing in your To-Do list, but we'll research the problem and resolve it. Please keep an eye out for the surveys in the future. Also, since you've had trouble with your surveys, we'll add some bonus coins to your account when the issue is resolved.
Sincerely,
########
Nintendo of America Inc.
As you might have guessed, Jay is impressed. Not only did they get to his problem after the first e-mail sent, but they also added a little something for his trouble.
Of the experience, Jay says:
This is why I have stuck with Nintendo. First you hardly ever have problems with their products and if you do it is taken care of despite the warranty. Second their customer service treats you as a human and actually do everything to resolve your issue.
For going above and beyond in the name of customer satisfaction: Nintendo, we salute you:
