Resident Evil 5 Producer Hints at New Wii Resident Evil Title
February 17, 2009 | 4:04 PM PST
Resident Evil 5 is done. It just needs to be printed, packed, and shipped off into the hands of trigger-happy wannabe B.S.A.A. agents all around the world.
With that out of the way, what would the Producer, Masachika Kawata, like to do next?
Personally I would like to create something on Wii in the Resident Evil family. At the moment we don't know and have just been working on RE5, so watch this space. -- Masachika Kawata, to Eurogamer
Enticing. So far, the Wii has only received RE love in the form of a Resident Evil 4 Wii-make, the Umbrella Chronicles rail-shooter (I would still love a sequel that follows Claire and Leon's adventures; throw in Degeneration, too), and in Japan, a remake of Zero and the first game. So, some good stuff, but not any really great stuff, RE4's million-plus sales notwithstanding.
And all together, that's left Resident Evil fans feeling a bit crabby. Hopefully the promise of something new will ease their pain.
In the meantime, you can catch Eurogamer's entire interview with Kawata here.
