Just a little over a month ago, we brought forth word that with the release of the Wii MotionPlus, older titles such as Wii Sports would not somehow be patched in order to make use of the more accurate motion-sensing device. And, in that particular instance, it seems that there is indeed a reason for that.
From this new batch of short commercials for Wii Sports Resort, it seems that some games from Wii Sports and Wii Play will be making a return. Check them out, starting with sword fighting:
Next up, from Wii Play is Table Tennis:
And as we saw at E3, there's the Disc Throw:
And finally, golf:
I'm kind of glad to see Golf return; We Love Golf didn't really do anything for me, and I'm not sure I'm so interested in playing it that I'd drop the money EA is asking for Tiger Woods. So this little game suits me just fine, and should be more than enough to satisfy my golfing itch...
...that is, until we get some sort of Mario Golf on the Wii.
My only question is, will these be the same holes as those featured in the original Wii Sports? Or will we get to enjoy a new set?
I wonder what else the game will have. Any you'd like to see return? Pool? Bowling? Can either even really benefit from MotionPlus?
Also, just for the heck of it, here's a more domestic commercial for Virtua Tennis 2009, which also makes use of the peripheral:
