One might be hard-pressed to find a person who doesn't think that many developers and publishers have been giving the Wii the short end of the stick this generation, but Joe Booth, who is the Senior Producer of the Wii and DS-exclusive Need for Speed NITRO for EA Montreal, tells Official Nintendo Magazine that they want to "break some new games" and start taking risks on the Wii.
"I can't speak for the rest of the industry or all of EA," Booth says in a published interview, "but I can speak for my group when I say I think we've turned a corner and the industry has woken up to Wii in the right way."
"We're seeing a lot of new energy on the platform," he continues. "One of the things I've found when I've been building the Nintendo Group is that there's a lot of very passionate people here. Our job is to find people that can be passionate about Wii and our mission. The vision for the Nintendo Group at Electronic Arts is a long-term one. We always want to have a balanced portfolio but we also want to break some new games and take some risks."
The full interview is available in issue 43 of the Official Nintendo Magazine, on sale in the UK and some magazine-importing shops. Other titles EA has lined up for release this year include Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, Grand Slam Tennis, EA Sports Active, and Dead Space: Extraction.
