Dead Space Extraction Developer: Wii is "Perfect for Mature Action Games"

Some people will tell you that there is no place for mature games on the Wii. They may even point to the likes of MadWorld or some other titles to back up their point. However, John Calhoun is no such person.
On the Nintendo Channel, the story designer for Dead Space Extraction not only praises the console's controls and "how much fun" they are in his game, but he also says something with which sales numbers have seemed to disagree.
"The Wii is a perfect platform for mature action packed games like Dead Space Extraction."
Naturally, I expect this to result in comments about rail shooters, etc.
What is most interesting is that despite sales of other mature games, it seems that developers are not exactly being deterred from bringing more of them to the Wii. They certainly aren't arriving in the quantity of the other two consoles on the market, to be sure, but there seems to be a constant, perhaps slightly growing amount of games being developed for the Wii with mature gamers in mind.
N+Dpad notes that even though the sales have been slow to start, House of the Dead: Overkill and MadWorld have each gathered about 300K units sold. And of course, Resident Evil 4 did rather well for itself, despite being the fourth version of the title released in two years.
Not to mention Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, which has moved 1.1 million units-- apparently well enough in Capcom's eyes to warrant a sequel. Plus the update of the GameCube remake of the original Resident Evil, which seems to be the first in a series.
It seems to be a slow tide, but one that's turning just the same.
