WayForward Talks Boys, Blobs, Virtual Console Releases, and Other NES Revivals

WayForward's Blog-huggingly anticipated Wii remake of David Crane's NES title A Boy and His Blob was recently released, and GameDaily took the opportunity to sit down with Lead Designer Sean Velasco to discuss a variety of subjects relating to the game.
One such topic was whether or not we might see the original game released on the Virtual Console. To this, Velasco responded that "I imagine that it would be very simple to do."
"However," he adds, "that ball is in Majesco and Nintendo's court. We would love to see it happen, though. Same goes for The Rescue of Princess Blobette on Game Boy, but unfortunately, there is no venue for that at the moment. DSi, I'm looking at you."
Elsewhere in the interview, GameDaily asks what other NES title the group might like to tackle. With Contra 4 and A Boy and His Blob under their belt, a new Clash at Demonhead is suggested. "How'd you know?" Velasco responds.
"Clash at Demonhead is one of Matt Bozon's (creative director) targets to redux. If I had to choose one realistically, I think it would have to be E.V.O.: The Search for Eden [on SNES]. I've said it before, but the potential for that game is so enormous. Here's my throwdown; if we made that game, it would outscore Spore!"
Wow, that's a pretty big challenge.
On a related note, I wonder if they would be interested in taking on Blaster Master, given that Bionic Commando Rearmed developer GRIN is now out of the picture.
Be sure to check out the full interview (it's not too long, trust me) over at GameDaily, where they discuss more Blobbish topics, and even weigh in on Nintendo's Wii Vitality Sensor.
