Aonuma Says Traditional Flow of Zelda Will Change in Next Wii Game

Yesterday, we learned from franchise director Eiji Aonuma that "some of the internet speculation is right" surrounding the new Legend of Zelda game for Wii. But other than that, he said that further discussion and details surrounding the title would have to wait for the next Electronic Entertainment Expo.
But for IGN, it seems that E3 2010 has come early, for they managed to conduct an interview with Aonuma which reveals a little bit more about the title.
In fact, it would seem that Nintendo is really trying to listen to the fans with this one, as Aonuma once more confirmed the utilization of Wii MotionPlus for 1:1 swordplay:
"We're taking advantage of MotionPlus," he said. "It's become very natural – the movement of your arms is precisely reflected in the gameplay. Thanks to the technological advancements, we hope the gameplay can be more accessible to people."
In addition, it appears that his team is tackling another issue which seems to have bothered many Zelda fans: the flow of the gameplay.
"We're making efforts regarding the total flow of the Zelda game," said Aonuma, "So far, the basic flow of the Zelda games is you're exploring a field, you go to a dungeon, you conquer it and return to the field. We're looking at altering that traditional flow. That's all I can share, and I can't say more until E3 next year."
Hopefully they'll consider some other grievances people have brought up, such as the series' growing sense of linearity.
While there may not be more to say on the game itself, IGN adds that the full interview will be coming soon.
