You'll be able to re-create your own face in titles like Wii Sports: Tennis using an in-game application.
May 17, 2006 | 9:25 PM PSTTalking to AMN Wii during an interview at E3 on Thursday, May 11 of last week, Takashi Tezuka told us that players will be able to create their own avatars for the upcoming Wii Sports series. When asked about how gamers can expect to do this, he responded saying they can use an in-game application to create their own faces in software, such as Wii Sports: Tennis, and other future software for Nintendo’s new-generation system.
Gamers no doubt remember from Nintendo’s own press briefing on May 9 that a number of Nintendo figureheads, including Shigeru Miyamoto and Reggie Fils-Aime, took the stage to demo Wii Sports: Tennis. During this demonstration, Nintendo spotlighted this feature, showing each Nintendo personalities’ character with a picture of their own real-life faces plastered over the in-game character’s face.
On a related note, Tezuka told AMN that Nintendo will more likely than not bundle all current Wii Sports titles in one convenient package and sell them at one price.
Currently, there are a number of Wii Sports titles in development, including Tennis, Baseball, Golf and Flying versions. None of the games currently feature online play.
